On a special occasion to mark the Children's Day, May 27 is supposed to such a day for merry and joy for all children, and kids too. But the present situation rattling the nation has left many families with scars of sadness.
It's been almost two (2) months since the capture of more than 200girls in Chibok (a small communal area of Borno state) by Nigeria's terrorist group BOKO HARAM. And undoubtedly the nation's presidency seem unsure of the tense situation.
Presumably, the president of Africa's most populous nation Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is quite clueless about what ought-to-be the next move for salvation BUT he is still the president; and your votes did make it happen!
At this point of no return in the history of Nigeria, if you are still labeling Mr President Goodluck Jonathan a "calamity", "incompetent" man, then you are a fool yourself. Regardless of what is happening now, before the last general elections in 2011, everyone knew he was just an opportunist NOT a tested & trusted individual relative to security of lives, and combating corruption.
But guess what, he was overwhelmingly voted into office as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria at the 2011 polls - largely based on pure sentiments and insincere religious beliefs.
Fast forward to the present day Nigeria, there have been more bombings and killings during the Goodluck Jonathan-led regime than any other democratic administration in Nigeria's history since independence!
There is no much need to put the heavy blame on an already helpless human with no clear vision, it is only appropriate for the citizens themselves to continue to take the fight to the terrorists.
The awareness have been encouraging so far from all views...we need to keep-up with the message of #BringBackOurGirls via more sensitive gatherings, rallies, on contemporary & modern modes of media » while hoping for an equal resolution from the enforcement agencies and foreign military aid.
If wishes do really come true, then it is the wish of every Nigerian that the kidnapped innocent children be rescued to spend the month's celebrations with their respective families. Let's wait for the reality...it's a wish though.
