BREAST CANCER AWARENESS: We are glad that Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede volunteered to bare her lustful breast for this awareness. Not many people know that the month of October every year is a month to reflect on the scourge of Breast Cancer, applicable to the females irrespective of age or social status. We owe it an obligation to bring to your knowledge all you need to know about Breast Cancer - its causes, prevention, and as well managing its eradication in our society. About: Breast cancer is a type of cancer originating from breast tissue, most commonly from the inner lining of milk ducts or the lobules that supply the ducts with milk. Cancers originating from ducts are known as ductal carcinomas, while those originating from lobules are known as lobular carcinomas. Breast cancer occurs in humansand other mammals. While the overwhelming majority of human cases occur in women, male breast cancercan also occur.

The characteristics of the cancer determine the treatment, which may include surgery, medications( hormonal therapyand chemotherapy), radiationand/or immunotherapy. Surgery provides the single largest benefit, and to increase the likelihood of cure, several chemotherapy regimensare commonly given in addition. Radiation is used after breast-conserving surgery and substantially improves local relapse rates and in many circumstances also overall survival.
