The alarm bells rang all square metres this week about the seemingly 'surprised' suspension of Nigeria's Central Bank Governor SANUSI LAMIDO SANUSI by the nation's president JONATHAN GOODLUCK about 72hours ago. Effectively Sanusi Lamido cease to act as the CBN Chief henceforth and his replacement has already been ratified by the President Jonathan Goodluck. Obviously coming as no surprise to those who are familiar with Aso Rock Politics in Abuja, Sanusi's suspension and his immediate treatment as a criminal by the State Security Service (SSS). And this situation is not unconnected with his revelation of huge corruption activities in the nation's Oil industry - particularly his adamant stand of the whooping $20Billion which could not be accounted for by the Petroleum Minister Mrs Allison Madueke. Till this moment, the presidency and NNPC have kept mute about the missing $20Billion from the nation's accounts - part of what has really made Nigeria a haven for corrupt practices at the highest level. Largely divided by perceived opinions, here's our bite: The reason for Sanusi's suspension, according the Presidency, is on the fact that Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has been involved in "financial recklessness during his reign as the CBN Chief"! Definitely this is not the end of this saga....it continues.
